March Photo a Day -Day 1-8

I think the craziness of my month must be reflected in the fact that I'm just posting this first set of photos now, and it's already three weeks into March! It's been a month of lots of papers to write for school (have you ever reflected on group work for 16 pages? I have, and it wasn't pretty!), sessions for school, overtime and trips to Toronto for all the jobs, and to top it all off, I've been capital SICK off and on for weeks. March has me a bit down for sure, and I'm having a hard time crawling out of my winter funk. Amusingly, tonight I was at a class for my placement where we were talking about my old friend self care, including taking some time for yourself and doing things you love. So I figured I'd take a few minutes and share this first batch of photos with you from my March Photo a Day project, and let you know that I haven't fallen off a cliff or anything :)

Day 1 - "L is for...."  Love!  Look at these sleeping guys cozying up-- who couldn't love that?
Day 2- "I made this": I sure did! Zentron the robot (clock + Rubix cube+ Wine pourers=robot love), Love string art and a similar yet legally distinct knitted Hello Kitty

Day 3- Key  - I found this old diary key and love charm in my stash of jewelery

Day 4- Luck - Nothing luckier than my trusty charm bracelet that I got for my 16th birthday ! I like to keep it real with charms like my bottle of gin, and the car charm given to me by my mom, aka, "the only car I will ever buy you"

Day 5: Under - This is the lamp in our hallway...I think it's sort of retro and fun
Day 6 - Chair - Speaking of retro and fun, a friend gave me this chair and I love it's 800 layers of paint and classic lines.

Day 7- Fear - I fear that now that I have a donut pan that I will never stop making all the donuts. Recipe here.
Day 8 - Favourite- Jesse is definitely my favourite, even when he gives me sad eyes until I throw this freaking toy for him for hours on end.

So there you have it. Now that my sickness is nearing the end (hopefully, I can't cough anymore!) I  will hopefully be more in touch :)

March Photo a Day

Now that I have a shiny new phone that can take more than one picture without chugging along, I'm going to try to do another Photo a Day challenge. I won't lie, I totally fell behind on this project a bit and just caught up today. But, hopefully I can stick with the photo every day for the rest of the month!

Just a little catch up on all of my February photo Challenge photos! I'm enjoying this challenge so far, although sometimes it's challenging to take a photo that fits the prompt as well as bring something personal to it. But I guess that's the whole idea!

Day 2: Words

I bought this mug originally for a friend, but I couldn't find it when it came time to give it to her and ended up keeping it myself. In case you're interested, this is the whole text:

For a long time it seemed to me that life was about to begin - real life. But there was always some obstacle in the way, something to be gotten through first, some unfinished business, time to still be served, a debt to be paid. Then life would begin. At last it dawned on me that these obstacles were my life. This perspective has helped me to see that there is no way to happiness. Happiness is the way. So, treasure every moment that you have. And treasure it more because you shared it with someone special, special enough to spend your time and remember that time waits for no one.

February Photo a Day - Day 1: My view From Here

Since one of my challenges for my 30 before 30 List was to participate in some kind of photo challenge, I thought I'd take part in the February Photo a Day Challenge, and kick it off by posting my first photo here. Photo Challenge - Interior Design

I know I've shown this photo on the blog before, but it's still my favourite part of my apartment, and really the only section that I feel I've designed and made my own in some way. I'm working on the other parts, but the progress seems slow, and some changes don't seem worth it with a rental that we'll likely be leaving in a year or so.

Anyone else have a favourite spot in your apartment/house/room you'd like to share? I'd love to see as I'm always looking for inspiration, as decorating (including things like picture hanging--fail at straight pictures, always) is not my strong point in terms of creating a cohesive whole or general feeling in a room.

Any tips, tutorials or favourite sites would also be appreciated!

Photo an Hour: My Saturday

11:00am --wake up late, time for coffee!

12:00pm -working on a dreamcatcher for an upcoming post --it's been ages since I made one of these!

1:00pm - Puppy walks with my two favourite guys :P

2:00pm - working on some DIYs for upcoming posts

3:00pm --tackling a pile o' dishes

4:00 pm --Tasty curry time!

5:00pm --getting ready to make cannolis

6:00pm --working on some blog posts, plus getting ready to go out for a walk

7:00pm - More walks with pup in the park

8:00pm - Rolling out the dough for cannolis

9:00pm - Cannolis all ready to eat! I think I forgot to eat dinner after these, they were so good!

10:00pm - Feet up, watching some Netflix, pup naps nearby

11:00pm - Cleaning up the kitchen

12:00 am--out for a walk again, someone soaped the fountain, again!

Lazy Summer Days- B&W Photo Challenge

I don't know about you, but I'd love to be out in the sunshine right now, swimming, eating watermelon and reading a good book. When I was a kid, I'd always get out the chaise lawn chair, grab a big glass of lemonade, and sit in the sun, re-reading Little Women for the umpteenth time.
