New Years Goals and Hopes for the Year

I've been thinking about some goals for the coming year over the past few days, and while I want to keep things simple, I also want to keep them meaningful and easier to measure than some of the goals that I've made in the past. Most of all, I want them to make my year better, brighter and more "me" rather than being a source of stress or annoyance over the year.

Focus on space

Make my space cleaner, tidier and more me: I think this goal will end up being about taking on some challenges this year to help me create some tidier and more usable space in my apartment. This month, I'm working through the challenges for the January Cure on the Apartment Therapy blog. Hoping this will help kick start my journey to a cleaner space!

I have to admit that I've been reading utter crap lately, when I do get a chance to read at all. I want to get back to reading some more challenging books with good stories, and hopefully knock a few more books off that BBC Big Reads list I started working my way through last year. To make it a bit more measurable, I'll say 20 more books off the list, as well as trying to read more classics and engaging fiction.

Keep that Crafty Mojo Jojoing

I didn't get a lot of time for crafting last year, but when I did, it definitely changed my mood and my outlook for the better. Sometimes it seems that I just need to put aside some time for my purely for crafting and to have my crafting space and materials ready to go. To make this goal more specific, I really just want to make time for crafting each day (which can require some planning when I'm on the go), to keep track of my finished projects, and to have some more

Grow my Shop

On a related note to craftiness, I would like focus on and grow my Etsy Shop a bit more than I did last year. Among my various goals, I'd like to:

1) create some knitting, cross stitch or sewing patterns for the shop
2) Create one new product a month
3) Add new listings on a regular basis

Breathe

Set aside some time for myself each day to relax, to breathe and to regroup. Still searching for that ever elusive balance in life between work, school, seeing people and getting stuff done that's hard to find.

So there are my goals so far. I'm sure I'll add to them as the year goes on, since the funny thing about goals is that the more you think about them, the more they multiply and grow your scope of what you think you're capable of. But I'll try to keep them as realistic as I can. Overall, I am hoping for a year of more happiness, of more quiet moments of beautiful things and time with awesome people. Last year was way too busy and full of stress, and maybe it's just the extended vacation vibe I have right now, but I'm not quite ready to let that sense of peace and relaxation go this year. So any help and support you can give me along the way this year would be much appreciated!
